Consulate General of India, Hong Kong & Macau SARs Successfully launched the Second Edition of the 'Incredible India Festival'

The Consulate General of India, Hong Kong & Macau SARs, in partnership with the Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) Association, successfully launched the second edition of the ‘Incredible India Festival’ on 21 March 2026. The two-day event is transforming the iconic Lan Kwai Fong streets into a vibrant hub of Indian heritage, culture, craft, cuisine, music, and tourism. Following the enthusiastic turnout of the inaugural event, this year's festival is seeing thousands of visitors, including locals, expatriates, and the Indian diaspora, gather to experience the diverse cultural fabric of India.

The event commenced with a formal kick-off ceremony on Saturday afternoon, featuring welcome remarks by the Consul General of India, Hong Kong & Macau SARs, Shri Rajesh Naik, and the billionaire businessman and Chairman of the Lan Kwai Fong Group, Dr. Allan Zeman.

Throughout the weekend, the festival is showcasing a rich and diverse tapestry of Indian art and culture, featuring live Bollywood & Indian classical music alongside vibrant classical dance performances, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam dance performances. The cultural showcase has been further enhanced by high-energy Garba folk dance, traditional Bhangra performance, Jogawa and Lezim folk dance performances from Maharashtra, and Bollywood fusion dances, and ending with DJ night. Audiences are also being treated to special open-air screenings of the blockbuster Indian movies 'Dangal' and 'Kantara', bringing the magic of Indian cinema to the local community.

In alignment with India's holistic wellness traditions, the festival offers interactive cooking demonstrations, Yoga workshops and insightful panel discussions on Ayurveda. Visitors can also explore the bustling 'Desi Bazaar', which features an array of booths offering authentic regional street food, traditional handicrafts, saree draping, Indian jewellery, and henna application. The Incredible India Festival also showcases a Baraat-styled procession, weaving through the Wo On Lane in LKF, as the crowds join in the dancing and singing. A special Consulate-booth showcased India’s achievements in diverse fields, including in trade, investments, manufacturing sector, One District One Product (ODOP) specialties, and famous tourism circuits in India.

The Incredible India Festival is being organised in a centrally located, publicly accessible and popular location, with free entry for all. The event saw good response from locals as well as the Indian community in Hong Kong on the first day, with several thousand people attending the Festival. Hundreds of people were present for each event in the amphitheater, with rolling crowds at the booths. The event is aims to foster cross-cultural exchange and strengthen the understanding and appreciation of Indian culture within Hong Kong's multi-cultural society.
