General Information for Indian Students seeking admission in Universities in Hong Kong

1.  Hong Kong’s Universities offer a variety of programmes ranging from degree to doctoral levels. The Universities adopt international standards in curriculum design and quality assurance. Qualifications granted by the universities in Hong Kong are internationally recognized. The academic session in Universities of Hong Kong starts in September and finish in June.

Following eight are the most prominent universities funded by the University Grants Committee(UGC), which provide curriculum and course design of international standards.

As these universities admit students at their own discretion, prospective students may refer to the institution websites for admission criteria. The universities also offer liberal scholarships to meritorious students.

2. Ranking

According to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2023, among the eight universities funded by UGC, Hong Kong, five universities, namely The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University are ranked top 100 in the world. (Three of the universities are ranked in the world’s top 50)
